Grace Island opened in August 2000 and was the property of Grace Island Foundation, whose chairman was businessman Fernance Perry. Fernance and his wife Janice agreed to dedicate the island to God, deciding it could be used for youth camps and other Christian purposes.
After two years of construction and landscaping work, Grace Island has proven itself to be a quality campsite used by many churches, schools, and youth organizations for over 20 years.
In 2018 Grace Island Foundation and The Perry family transferred ownership of the island to Word of Life Bermuda, who are committed to continuing their dream of quality youth camping on Grace Island. Word of Life, a local charity, now offers this quality rental facility for local and international groups year-round.
Throughout 2021 and 2022, Word of Life gave Grace Island a major upgrade, building cabins to replace tents, an enlarged pavilion, and a 130-foot waterslide. We look forward to serving organizations and families with these new and improved ammenities.
